Fine. I don't trade Iomega so I'll let our day trading experts address your question. I thought your question was asking more about the fundamentals.

AC, Jr.: I have observed that IOM often trades contra to the market and the tech sector. Some of its best days this year have been on horrendous down days for both the Dow and Nasdq (for instance, the day after third quarter earnings). Contrast that with CYMI, for instance, which, even after having a great earning report, went down the next day because the sector tanked. I think it's just littered with stops, buy and sell and it takes time to work through them. When she runs, though, she really runs (both up and down). The techicals are fine, thought, in case you were worried about that.

Also, the institutions are still raising cash, witness selloffs in drillers and bank stocks, etc., not buying yet (IMO). They are also probably waiting to see how the thing with SoDamn shakes out before committing.

Ardner,
I believe IOM has a history of low vol/sluggish price action on days when the "quality" tech stocks rally and gain attention. Alternatively , IOM has had some great runups when the big names were faltering and investors moving their profits to the smaller cap stocks.
Also, while the "Big Announcement" continues to grow on me, it did not provide any reason to anticipate an immediate stock price movement.

The split may be the greatest benefit to share price in the next few months when combined with the expected good spin fro comdex. As another SI poster noted, it seems less likely that IOM will see as much resistance breaking 17.5 as it would have breaking 35. Toatally psychological effect, but real nonetheess in my opinion.

Encouraging you to hold,
Markas
