Hello John
I just finished reading a story in the Globe and Mail titled,
"Asian Crisis blow to forestry, Noranda says"
Do you think because we are a country whose product is mostly
raw materials that we will feel the effects of Asia sooner than most.
There is a large % of our work force in the forestry and minning,
gold and base metals and a lot of related spin off jobs.
I'm with INCO and next week on the 18-19 Nov. board of directors
and financial advisors will meet to discuss cost cutting measures
and they have stated that one of the items will be the possible
shut down of all Ontairo operations in the hope that it will help
boost world nickle prices.a good part of INCO's profit comes from
gold produced as a by product.
Nickel prices and share prices started down last march.
Apparently there are a fair number of new 96 cars on lots in the
Toronto area that have not been sold, whats happening.
Also yes I have bought gold coins.
Good Luck
Lorne

but - figure this out - Gold futures for Apr 98 330 contract traded higher today than close yesterday - and gold dropped $6? this AM. End of gold market is not as clear as come would believe.
