I attended a marketing program last night given by Dean Witter
showcasing Jim Collins, Insight Cap. Mgmt.and OTC Insight.
I posed the y2k question to Jim. After hemming and hawing, he
answered in the affirmative by telling us he upgrades his IS every 2 yrs.
He believes all currently issued software is "compliant." He also stated
that they were "looking " at some y2k issues. but could only second a name
thrown out by a member of the audience.
After meeting I cornered him, and asked what he thought of Ed
Yardeni's fear of a 1999-2000 recession caused by world-wide y2k non-compliance.
He laughed in my face, saying the year 2000 will bring in a golden era
for the world and investors.
Wow, where do we go from here? And this is a Harvard man!!

"It is hard to fully grasp that in our world it can be so full
of unspeakable horrors, tragedies and heartache, and yet
the morning bird still sings its song".

"When I heard such words of truth spoke by another, it makes me
walk my day quietly, holding the words with honor."
