If this rings a bell, maybe you've seen a chain email peddling the second half of this conspiracy theory. Some on the far-right believe the health care law creates a private army for President Obama to call up and train on U.S. citizens. What it really does is make good on a plan first envisioned by Bush HHS Secretary Tommy Thompson in the wake of the September 11 attack to create a Ready Reserve Corps of several thousand public health professionals — nurses, doctors — that can be called up to treat people in the wake of an epidemic or a disaster like Hurricane Katrina. Gohmert gave credence to the theory on the House floor, with an addendum. The administration's Libya operation is actually a false flag, to draw down the country's military reserves, and give Obama the excuse he needs to call up his private army. Since the ascendance of the Moral Majority at the beginning of Ronald Reagan’s presidency, the religious right has steadily incorporated Christianity into all forms of government and national policy decisions. Maybe in to their opinion of what the proper decisions should be, not so much in to the actual decisions the government makes. If the conservative Christians were followers of Christ as they claim, they would adopt stringent gun control laws I don't remember Jesus calling for such laws. Not about guns obviously, but also not about swords, or bows, or spears, or knives, or axes, or polearms, etc. He did say "he who lives by the sword dies by the sword". That's relevant to the danger of a lifestyle of fighting, you can literally die by the sword in that context, that being violent can cause other people to be violent against you. But it isn't a call for prohibition. As for social spending 1 - We already have huge amounts of it, and 2 - Jesus called for charity not socialism. He said to give, not to forcibly take and redistribute. and stop enriching the wealthy with American taxpayer dollars The wealthy are the ones paying most of those taxes. A tax cut is not enriching them with other people's dollars, its letting them keep more of their own. Corporate welfare is enriching (some of) them with tax payer dollars, so fine do away with it.
