The Tax Foundation is a conservative think tank that was founded by corp. pariah whom had an agenda of keeping Americans in the dark about how much they are getting screwed by the rich in this country.

Do you believe in egalitarianism, Tim?

The upper 1 percent of Americans are now taking in nearly a quarter of the nation’s income every year.

The upper one percent are now generating nearly a quarter of the nation's income ever year. Actually more like a fifth

Meanwhile they are paying much more than a quarter of federal incomes taxes and of federal taxes in general.

"In 2008, the top 1 percent of tax returns paid 38.0 percent of all federal individual income taxes and earned 20.0 percent of adjusted gross income, compared to 2007 when those figures were 40.4 percent and 22.8 percent, respectively. "

"The top-earning 5 percent of taxpayers (AGI over $159,619), however, still paid far more than the bottom 95 percent. The top 5 percent earned 34.7 percent of the nation's adjusted gross income, but paid approximately 58.7 percent of federal individual income taxes."

And their average tax rate was 20.7%....gives a different perspective, doesn't it?
