The only statement I made about history was that poll taxes where historically used for racist purposes. I doubt you disagree with that.

None of the other statements in my post where about history so how could I be rewriting it?

"Poll taxes are not an inherently racist concept" is not about history, but it is true. The fact that ID requirements are not a poll tax is also both not about history and true.
