How long would the government need to shut down to pay off all the government debt?

If all the revenue still came in (at the 2010 rate), and the payments on the debt went out, even though the government literally spent nothing, then it would take about 6 years to pay off the debt.

But a "shutdown" doesn't really shutdown the government. Most of the spending continues. If we staid in "shutdown" mode forever, we still might run a deficit, considering how large of deficits we are starting out with.
