Especially when they're older and start to have multiple problems. They do need help in sorting out what's going on with their bodies and what they need to be doing. I've gone with my own 94 year old mother on doctor appointments with several different problems through the years, involving different specialties. I've always been shocked at how cursory her treatment was and yet she says those doctors were actually spending more time with her than usual. She thinks it's because I'm with her, and I don't doubt this.
