Lindy,

In the papers today I have found clear evidence supporting my basic theme that the American left is absolutely at war with the American economy. On one hand the left screams about how much they care about the welfare of the down trodden and on the other had they actively and deliberately work to ruin the economy of the US and in fact - the world. The American left is dominated by the loony left. While I maintain hope that there will emerge a rational left that does not want to bankrupt America - I see no sign of it.

Here are two examples:

1. NYTs: No to a New Tar Sands Pipeline
Published: April 2, 2011

nytimes.com

Later this year, the State Department will decide whether to approve construction of a 1,700-mile oil pipeline from Canada to the Texas Gulf Coast called Keystone XL. The underground 36-inch pipeline, built by TransCanada, would link the tar sands fields of northern Alberta to Texas refineries and begin operating in 2013. The department should say no............

2. Los Angles Times (today in Cleveland Plain Dealer): OP-ED
Unsafe at any reactor

latimes.com

U.S. nuclear plants are storing increasing amounts of highly radioactive spent fuel in pools that are vulnerable to accident or attack. New safety policies are needed....................

I could go on and on. Bad policy leads to bad results. We have a sick slow growing economy that demands more and more debt to keep afloat. As it all goes to hell - the only thing Obama can do is to blame Bush. I suggest he look in a mirror.

Bob

My Dad loaned me the "Red Star Over China" a couple of months before he died and really wanted me to read it. He was conflicted over whether he was a true Communist or just an ordinary Socialist.

I guess I'll have to read it to find out what the hoopla was all about, but it won't matter. I am sure it will disgust me.
