I have some news for JMAR holders. I just spoke to a company representative and was told I could say here that JMAR will NOT be acquiring Santa Fe Laser. JMAR has terminated their letter of intent to acquire the company because they found too many deficiencies. However, at some time in the future, JMAR will probably acquire another laser company as the ONLY way they can protect their proprietary information about the Brightlight laser is to manufacture it themselves. So before you all complain about another acquisition, bear in mind that it is a SOUND business decision in light of the circumstances. Also, regarding acquisitions -- most are done in order to put facilities in-house for certain manufacturing capabilities. It is faster, easier (and cheaper) to acquire a company that is already set up to manufacture lasers, for example, than for JMAR to build a plant, hire people, etc.

I'll add some more later -- have to run now.

As someone who is heavily invested in the common, I would rather see the warrants expire as worthless and have JMAR do a secondary offering after the new products take off and the stock price is $10+. If my shares are going to be diluted, I'd like to get as much as possible out of the new shares.

Bilberry, I share your frustration with the stock price. I looked at some probability estimates I made over 2 years ago concerning JMAR's stock price. I thought that the chances of JMAR being under $5 after 2 years were about 5%. I guess I was wrong! I think next year could be a very good year. If all the new products start producing and we see earnings in a quarter of .07 or more, JMAR could not only break 5, but possibly 10. I understand why some people are frustrated, but I think overall JMAR has made progress over the last 2 years and we're very close to reaping the dividends.

Gooch, if a lot of JMAR's products were bought and not developed internally, who cares? Microsoft did pretty well with a product they purchased and called MS-DOS. :) - Dave

Those of you who hold warrants have the opportunity of a lifetime. You can sell them right now for $.4375 less commissions. On 3/1/98 you can't give them away. Wishing the stock would surge past $5 by Valentine's Day is a waste of time, and there is no incentive for the company to extend them because they are not really cash hungry. I am relieved that they did not buy Santa Fe Lazer; it sounds like another mom and pop outfit just like CATS. All sorts of family secrets hidden away that bring down the anticipated earnings. Do I hear due diligence at last?
