The Saudi involvement in Bahrain shows that they are fully capable of assertive action if they see it as being in their interests.

About "bombing" Qaddafi - why does it have to be bombing? Not to mention that they could have in fact come out FOR Qaddafi, we don't really know.

WRT the "humanitarian crisis".... 1) at least for now, it remains mostly a political straw man. 2) that said, yes, you can't have a revolution, a civil war, without bloodshed.

And 3) there is not much doubt that victorious "rebels" will want to "punish" the pro-Qaddafi loyalists, his former public employees, etc. Should we then go and bomb the "rebels" - or should we ignore that new "humanitarian crisis"?

Early in Libya, the Arab League and Obama were all for getting involved in removing Gdaffy.

Seems to me Obama changed his mind about removing Qdaffy about the same time the Arab League did.

By that logic, Katelew, we should have intervened in Tiananmen Square, in North Korea, in Idi Amin's Africa, and where was the world when Saddam killed over 5,000 Kurds with chemical warfare...?

I must have missed Gaddafi saying he was going to murder the people trying to toss him out of his chair. I know he did send plans up to bomb them....

We weren't serious about taking him down, or if we were serious, Gaddafi would have been history by now.

Obviously, I, and most of us, including you, HATE some of the world's despots.....but without the entire world support, Americans can't fix all the world's problems.

Just look at the vitriol that George W Bush had to put up with from our own Left for all the years he was in office..
