Most American Marxists - at least up to date - would be offended if you call them by this name. Very few of them studied Lenin, they are not really "conscious" Marxists. They see one guy driving a Mercedes, and another guy broke, and they think that redistribution would make the world a better place, and would make us better human beings. They do not make the connection that if they push this far enough, then everyone may become worse off, and the poor guy will lose his welfare check and his food stamps. They simply say - Let's do what we think is the right thing, and redistribute, and let the chips fall where they may.... :)
