Ian,

Dell has a whole room of Dell servers just buzzing away. No compaq's anywhere to be found. What we forgot to mention is this sleek new monitor. Its really snazzy looking.

And "our" guide showed us how easy it is to open the box. For those at-home computer nerds who know how to add stuff. It pops right open.

That plant is really something to see.

thread, please find all the posts...I said that they use dell servers to control factory automation, the use tandems to control planning
etc. they have a system called RESPOND on tandems....
RESPOND runs on tandems...they don't use the darn thing..it might as well be a paper weight...maybe AR and AP etc. is all the use..
they can't do mrp on it.
IN NONE OF MY POST DID I SAY THEY USE CPQ PROLIANTS...
THAT IS STUPID.
I wish now I would have said nothing since the posts were over most peoples's heads (dell heads)
the person who finds the posts where I said they use cpq proliants..
find it and send me your address,,,,$100 check is in the mail.

Please , thread...don't go into a riot..I just finally wanted to clear up what jbn started erroneously.
running a plant off a dell server is one thing...running a world-wide ERP that ties together the entire corp. is another thing.
cpq isn't doing it either..they still have HP's for main plants and don't phase those out til maybe 98...
