Since the Elliott study is long and heavy on figures but an important resource, I extracted the most important data and posted it at:

It's important to note the power of a wind turbine is proportional to the cube of the wind speed. This is why Wind Turbines have over the past 20 years increased in height from 30 meters to 80 meters today. The higher the Wind Turbine, the higher the wind speed.

Going from 50 meters to 80 meters should increase the power output of a Wind Turbine by 30% due to the increased wind speed. So, recalculating the figures given earlier:

4,600 TWh at 50 meters = 6,000 TWh at 80 meters

10,800 TWh at 50 meters = 14,000 TWh at 80 meters

The US produced 4,000 TWh of electricity in 2009.
