With improved US productivity and over-production in Asia, doesn't this look pretty deflationary (something I never thought could happen with purely paper money)?

It happened with greenbacks in the nineteenth century, but only because they were gradally brought to par with gold certificates.

This could keep money going into bonds, especially treasuries.
