Recently I learned electric cars are about as old as internal combustion powered cars. The problem with them has always been the range, battery weight, and recharge time.

In 1911, Baker Electric car ads boasted of going 244 miles on a charge.



Today, though Tesla ads boast of 300+ miles per charge, the EPA says the Tesla Roadster "can travel 244 miles (393 km) on a single charge."
