Actually, the version of Windoze95 currently shipping (RevB) with new machines can handle much larger partitions.

What it still can't do though is span a drive letter across multiple partitions or span a partition across multiple physical drives. Since the largest IDE drives are currently 8.4 gig, RevB of Windoze95 can make such a drive one large partition. The older versions of Windoze95 (like I have) still require partitioning into 2.1 gig partitions or smaller.

BD is kind of a stop-gap for that. As soon as spanning becomes available in PC operations systems, BD will no longer be needed.

BD stores C drive stuff on other partitions and tricks the operating system into thinking the stuff is still on C. You can still see the other drives, and the relocated files that physicall reside on them, but you also see those same files on your C drive, even though they're not physically there.
