Jeffrey

I have not been able to access Isld.com for a few days. Is it no longer in service?

Thanks

Sailor

Jeffrey,

I am also sorry to see Island stop the access to quotes. It is difficult to receive criticism when you are providing a free service but that is life on the internet. There are whiners and complainers that just do it to read their own posts. They should be ignored even though it is difficult.

I have been a reader and sometime poster to both the Datek & Island threads since they were started. There are some valid questions that speak for many of us. Most good ones seem to me to be how the market functions. It may not be your job to educate us, but the information you can provide is very helpful. Details on how a trade is executed helps level the field for those of us with less experience.

Knowing what trades are sitting on Island has affected my order pricing and I will miss that capability. I hope you reconsider and continue to provide access. Ignore the complainers and their sarcasm, accept the thanks and valid questions.

Regards,

Bob

>>>The new Island spec allow your orders to keep its priority in the queue, after recieving a partial execution. We are currently working with our users (including Datek Online) to have them take advantage of this, and many new features.<<<

>>>To completely answer your questions, it depends on how, your order was received by ISLD. Under the new OUCH specifications, your order will not loose its place in the que upon you receiving a partial execution.<<<

This sounds to me like there is a possibility that some users may still be suffering from the old problem of losing opportunity to execute the remains of a partial fill if they are not taking advantage of the "new features". I have talked to a few traders who think it is still happening to them with ISLD. Am I reading something into your responses that isn't there, or are there still users who are losing their place in the queue on partial fills because their electronic trading firm has not upgraded their interface to Island?
