The polls suggested that voters were still unwilling to accept tax increases or benefit cuts. Smart Washington insiders like Mitch McConnell and President Obama decided that any party that actually tried to implement these ideas would be committing political suicide. We're at the crossroads for our nation and there's not a soul out there that shouldn't know it. We've heard it from both sides of the isle, "our path is unsustainable".... Both sides know it and both sides know where the largest expenditures are, medicare, medicaide, social security and (the only one the constitution authorizes), the military. You'd think that the demorats would sense the wind shift and come up with a viable plan of their own in order to grab the reigns of this problem... Yet all they've done is drag their feet, whine about cuts the GOP are proposing as mean and evil, while avoiding any constructive reciprocation. Left to their own devices the demorats probably realise that if they stop spending there won't be a shred of their platform left..... Meanwhile, we've got a President that can only get excited about wealth redistribution, basketball picks and golf.... Gee, and all this time I thought that people ran for the presidency because they wanted to fix problems.....I guess that only goes for selective problems, kind of like the way our AG has deemed it appropriate to only enforce selective laws. Well Mr President, I think you owe an answer to the American people to this question: When are you going to stop voting present and start acting like a President?
