I receive an update periodically on breaking news on infectious and neurological disorders.

The most recent update has a recent example of an organ recipient being infected by the donor who had aids.

According to the article this is the first documented case of a person getting aids via this method.

What we do know is that Aids is transmitted via body fluids----consider a straight non infected Marine helping an infected Marine who has Aids after the Aids infected Marine is injured.

The straight Marine has open skin that gets in contact with the blood of the injured Aids infected Marine.

The straight Marine subsequently is diagnosed with AIDS due to the exchange of blood from the AIDS infected Marine to the good Samaritan Marine.

This happened as I have recounted in the Washinton, D.C metro area-------a doctor with open cuts due to mowing the lawn became infected by an "ILLegal" who was in a car accident on the beltway. The doctor stopped to help and became infected-----rather than repeat that real life story-----search SI I have written about thia previously on.

Consider the possibilities of exchange of body fluids in the military. The possibilities are endless when living in proximity to a person infected with aids.

AIDS IS CONTAGIOUS UNDER THE RIGHT CIRCUMSTANCES. We should protect our men and women who are serving this nation and who are not gay. Heaven knows, they are giving their lives daily to protect nations-------why then should they, our military men and women, be faced with a daily threat of contacting AIDS?
