I presume that no one would dispute the contents of the article. He has not suggested what the remedy is. You have middle America (which is mostly non-immigrant) rooting for the "deal and steal" approach of the Republican party. This approach is slowly taking away the benefits that a "First world" society such as America is expected to provide its people. THe very folks from middle America who are rooting for the policies being espoused by the Republican party, are themselves availing benefits under the Medicare and Medicaid programs. Even the "class of Republican Congressmen" who are yelling from rooftops about "defunding Obamacare" rushed to take the "superior" medical benefits due to them as Congressmen.

What a bloody bunch of hypocrites.

Some years ago after losing a challenge to Jimmy Carter, Ted Kennedy addressed the Democratic National Convention, saying:

"... and to those whose cares are our concern, I say to you tonight... the work goes on, the cause endures and the dream will never die."

I and so many others dared dream that after so many years we had found our voice in Barrack Obama... someone who had the courage to advocate the timeless American values of fairness, equity and plain old common sense.

We sent him to the Presidency with a Democratic Congress and... got the third term of George Bush. Instead of fair tax rates to cover the costs of running the government he approved extending the Bush tax cuts... in the name of compromise we're gutting necessary programs to the extent not even Bush would have advocated.
