Being democrat makes you stupid?, that's shocking. I think you have cause and effect reversed, certainly where it relates to economics. Walter Russell Mead (whose blog I recommend) has a number of good posts about the death of what he calls the Blue State model. The problem with "progressive" thinking on the economy is, not only is it clueless as to basic economic dynamics like the law of supply and demand, the facts it thinks it knows are all 50 years out of date.
