I was just informed by worldnet that they have introduced x2 technology in my area. Does anyone know if they are also unrolling flex. All this talk of standards can be made moot if the big players all adapt the same thing.
I also wonder if adsl technology can become price competitive with what we now have with 56K. Market share amoung consumers is going to be driven more by price than anything else. I'm under the impression that telcos are looking to charge big premiums for this service. If they do the're going to loose a lot of business, not only for themselves but perhaps also for asnd. I think intc's best growth days may be behind because what people will want is not marginally greater processor speed but greater banwith.
Does anyone know if asnd is prepared to sell equipment to the cable companies.

NEWS:3Com to unveil fast network switch on Monday

biz.yahoo.com

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Nov 14 (Reuters) - 3Com Corp. on Monday will unveil what it claims will be the fastest networking switch in the industry and a big boost in its rivalry with Cisco Systems Inc.

<<3Com said it will introduce the CoreBuilder 9000, a device that controls the flow of information among computers in a corporate setting. The new switch has up to four times the capacity of similar products from rivals, 3Com said.>>

<<Analysts said the device would fill a big hole in 3Com's product line. 3Com specializes in low-end networking gear such as modems and adapter cards for PCs. The CoreBuilder 9000 would help 3Com encroach on Cisco's speciality in high-end switches and routers.>>

Looks like the competition heats up!
