I emailed one of the law firms that announced a class action suit. Here is part of the response I got. Don't bother flaming me for getting in touch with the law firm.

"Thank you for your inquiry regarding the above class action
lawsuit. We filed the suit seeking damages on behalf of all persons who purchased shares of the company between April 21, 1997 and November 3, 1997. The case is not yet certified as a class action; the Court will be asked to certify the case sometime in the next few months. If the case is certified as a class action, then persons who purchased stock during the class period will be sent a notice informing them that they are part of the class, and that no action need be taken to remain part of the class"
