I think all discussion is going to be moot on this. It's looking like NATO doesn't have what it takes plus the rebels can't be trained and equipped fast enough. At the moment the whole exercise seems headed for failure if the goal was regime change.

we don't know who the rebels are. For all we know, we are joining forces with al Qaeda.

If so (and I believe it is quite likely), they're laughing all the way to the Mosque.
