I personally would not blame I.R. When there is an interview, the P.R. person for the company does NOT know what the TV networks will keep and what they will discard. Many of you must have seen an accident, fire, or town meeting reported in the press: there is often a difference with what YOU percieve and what is reported. ABC and NBC are not "Financial" network. They are NOT in the business to advertise a company but rather "advertise" a discovery or new treatment. Before the A.H.A. meeting, I was pessimistic on that stock, on a T.A. basis and stated it on this thread. I was doubly pessimistic because of the market environment... and Iraq... and Asia (Some of you guys must know the C-A-N-S-L-I-M method of evaluating a stock... Here the M stands for the general condition of the Market which is not very good, as you know... Actually I think it st%$#@ks!). I was very surprised by the beginning of this week because I expected this "buy on rumors and sell on news" scenario to unfold sooner (the week before the meeting). I was also very surprised by the extent of the coverage: to hit 2 major networks is a HUGE feat, in my opinion, in view of the 2000+ presentations at the American Heart Association. Many patients must have seen that and are in the process to call their physicians at this point. Remember: if the results had been negative, Vasomedical would have probably not survived and from 3$ it could have dropped to something like 25 cts in a day. Regarding VEGF... give me a break! If I had gone to the AHA I could boast probable about many VEGF types of molecules that could have a potential in helping patients with angina. VEGF is probably a protein that has to be injected intravenously or deposited localy and if eaten would be destroyed by the digestive mechanisms... And these type of molecules have generalized actions (never a magic bullet!). Look at something like corticosteroids: very potent and very beneficial in many conditions but they have many side effects... and, at least, corticosteroids are not protein and therefore can be taken by mouth. I still would vote for an EECP treatment myself, if I run into trouble, before CABG or PTCA. I hope that Vasomedical is able to market those EECP systems. As stated in the past: I would be very interested to see results of EECP treatment on peripheral vascular disease, renal failure due to vascular insuficiency, cerebrovascular conditions, congestive heart failure... Also remember that this last study appears positive in a patient population which was VERY sick. That was good. Good luck all. FHG
