Stuff......

Paul, I have my mother's original wedding set which is made out of white gold, square cut diamond flanked by smaller stones, and also a beautiful dinner ring out of white gold and diamonds which my father gave to my mother. Both are from the late 40's. My jeweler says you absolutely can not get the kind of craftsmanship in todays jewelry. What I like is that when the light reflects off the rings, the white gold doesn't take anything away from the fire of the stones. All I know is everyone who see's my white gold rings think they're gorgeous, and start looking for pieces for themselves. Today's jewelry manufacturers seem a little clueless (except for extreme high end of course)....White metal has a much more sedate, elegant look to me. I enjoy looking at estate jewelry, just about anything from the forties and earlier. bp
