Kent; RE:"all in all, kind of a disappointing day for KLIC..."

...agreed. The earnings growth warning will affect sentiment in KLIC, (and the entire semi-equip sector, somewhat). However, traders love KLIC (and semi-equip stox), and may help - Though I expect that investors, who take earnings more soberly, will re-evaluate their portfolios and reduce KLIC holdings in the near term. Usually, but not always, there is a "flight to quality" in the initial stage of a sector's recovery, so the bellwethers like AMAT and NVLS, etc., are the first to benefit from investors' capital.

Technically, KLIC remains in an intermediate-term DownTrend, though he did make a nice Hammer Candlestick Thursday and tried to bust 30 today. All KLIC needs is buyers next week, and the charts will tell us an entirely different story. Good Luck!

-Steve

Kent,

I am not surprised that the stock was unchanged today. Everyone is looking at the next two quarters. Q1 earnings will drop to $0.38 / share. The product transition will extend somewhat into the Q2 with EPS near $0.63. If the market remains strong Q3 and Q4 should be outstanding. KLIC is doing all they can to "talk" the stock price up.

If external factors (e.g. Asian problems) don't kill the business, look for KLIC to start a major move up after reporting q1 results at the end of January.

Short term trading range is $25 to $30 /share.

I trade KLIC a lot and at times I leave a lot good chunk of change on the table. These $10 swings on a $25 stock are unbelievable.
