to all. i've just calculated how i've been doing the past month. tho today was welcome relief, i'm still down nearly 20% from october 10. largely because of huge hits in apm, qntm, seg and wdc. 10/15 11/14 wdc: 41 5/8 23 3/8 seg: 40 1/6 25 1/5 apm: 32 3/8 18 5/8 qntm:40 3/16 30 5/16 on 10/10 i held 4000 apm, 1000 wdc, 500 seg and 5000 qntm. i'm now long just 500 seg and 6000 qntm. i'm only barely hanging on to a slim gain for the year. better i should have put my money in a christmas club. is my sorry experience unique? i'd like to hear if there are others on the same titanic.

* 1 STOCK 1 WEEK * WIND -- long -- open 11-17 (monday) Wind releases earnings on WED, As usuall I would expect a run up. Visibility of earnings is very high so people already know what to expect. But maybe it might run up.. Also its gone to explore my home plantes which tickles me pink.. With a P/E of 78 or so its a close tie to PSFT! Business Summary WIND develops, markets & supports advanced software operating systems and development tools allowing customers to create real-time software applications for embedded computers. For the 6 months ended 7/31/97, total revenues rose 46% to $40.4M. Net income rose 92% to $6.8M. Revenues reflect continued market acceptance of the flagship Tornado product. Earnings also reflect higher margins due to higher sales of products which do not carry royalty costs. tscn.com

WEEK TWO PICK SUNW LONG I'm sticking with same horse. The Sun is about to rise! This past week, they were voted to set the ISO standards for Java, even though the USA voted against it. They have started a strong marketing campaign for the rest of the year, two CPU's for the price of one and an extra 10% discount on peripheral purchases of $30,000.00 or more. Also, I own a bunch, so I'm always hopeful.

virg*****1 stock 1 week pick** long ttelf still like this one and is around 50 day moving average. fundamentals looking good and getting better. may still be a little early. from last week it may be more prudent to be on the short side of the market. we'll see this week. good luck all.
