There is no love between Hamas and the Pal leaders in the West Bank. If they go for some sort of unilateral proclamation of statehood, they will probably form 2 separate entities. UN would rubber stamp them, no doubt. But recognition by the UN doesn't give a nation a right to bomb their neighbors. So, with Gaza not very much would change.

West Bank is a bit more complicated, but it seems that recently they were somewhat less aggressive.

I think their statehood(s) would be a non-issue if they would be willing to accept coexistence with Israel -- unfortunately that's not in the cards.
