In 2008, his campaign released a certified copy of it. Apparently, maybe Hawaii has a different version or shortened version? Whatever the version, though, it is considered official and has served him through the years to get married, have a driver's license, go to college, and get a passport. Great! I'm glad to hear you say you believe that. And I'm glad to know you posted here that a vetted and embossed birth certificate exists. What I ask you to do is post that document you mentioned that you are so certain exists. Can you do that??? If not, why not? You said it was released...released by whom and why have you not posted it to support your position? Or have you also been firing the Obama bullsxxt gun at all of us? Without the document, your story is unsubstantiated and you are speaking in circles. Is there a straight line in the story you are weaving and dumping on us? uw PS. This country is full of illegals with phony US drivers licenses, and phony marriage certificates, and phony college IDs. They are reason enough for suspicion. So since you are convinced otherwise, why don't you end the discussion right now and go ahead and give us the real documents that you say exist???!!! Go Ahead...Just Do It!

Katelew this is the crux of the argument as I understand it. The "Certification of Live Birth" posted online and widely touted as "Obama's birth certificate" does not in any way prove he was born in Hawaii, since the same "short-form" document (is/was?) easily obtainable for children not born in Hawaii. The true "long-form" birth certificate – which includes information such as the name of the birth hospital and attending physician – is the only document that can prove Obama was born in Hawaii, but to date he has not permitted its release for the public or press. In a nutshell...Obama supporters often do not realize the difference, or are ok with the rubber stamped response that he provided a certified legal document, which is true but possibly misleading. Birthers will not accept that the legal document (Cert. of Live Birth) actually provides proof of where he was born, because the young state of Hawaii in the early 60's was known to issue Cert. of Live Birth by request with just a signature from parent or legal guardian, as I understand it.
