my understanding is sanibel would be nice for a week or less. but, there is traffic - and not much if you are going to be there six months - and traffic and toll bridge can be a bit much. my ex asked my son to get her some shells. i am a saint - and said ok - but, we did not have time - with toll bridge, traffic - indeed - we didn't pass through venice - and i should have - my son liked siesta key - we had margaritas - didn't see the beach - younger crowd than long boat key. venice may be a lot cheaper - and in striking distance to sarasota for arts, etc. i don't know if it is nice enough for me. housing in bradenton wasn't nice by the public park-beach.
