I was just looking at Zillow for houses in San Francisco. I was surprised by the number of houses listed on some streets. It's hard to tell, but it seems like half the houses on the street were for sale on some of the streets.

Does anyone know, for the average large city, what percentage of the dwellings are on sale at any given point in time?
