This argument doesn't make sense. There are many reasons that can explain the price differential. An obvious one that comes to mind is cost structure. If QCOM phones cost more to manufacture, then you need to charge more for them. DWB's comment about ERICY's handset PROFITS being up over 100% say a whole lot more than your price quotes.
