I know what you mean about that kind of experience (we all make stupid mistakes, sometimes). But that doesn't change the fact that there are ways around these kinds of problems, if approached with a good set of instructions or a professional approach. If the modem manufacturers come out with a better mouse trap than the one on your manufacturer's motherboard, they will give you the methodology to install the sucker so that you will buy it.
