Patterning Electronics on the Cheap

I was impressed with an article in Science (October 17, 1997). The jist of this paper would be to produce electronic devices by a process which eliminates the masking and etching steps now needed and just stamp out the circuit on to a polymer. This is now good enough for simple things like "smart cards" but far too limited for chips, microprocessors etc.

Is there anything here that could totally change the way in which we make chips in say 10 years down the road? Is there an investment play? What companies would be involved in this (AMAT)?
