Skeets, you're falling into the trap of making the behavior of a very complex system sound like it was the execution of some monolithic plan. That's not realistic.

Little as I'm inclined to let the Fed off the hook, there were many mouths enthusiastically blowing up the credit bubble and gaming the system, some of whom managed to blow themselves up along with the bubble, hardly the sign of a well-ordered plan, lol.
