You don't really believe this DOJ, headed by one of the most ineffective AGs in history, is going to prosecute Blankfein?

It is simply not going to happen.....the statute of limitations will be a cover, oooops, sorry, too late.

The referral to the DOJ by the Committee is a joke.

When it becomes news on the NYT, then the referral might mean something. But read the bylines for yesterday's stories:

dealbook.nytimes.com

Why Goldman Is Not a Simple Culprit in the Financial Crisis Report

Any suggestion there that prosecution is appropriate, as a Senator has suggested? Nope, not at all. More, and it had to be Gretchen Morgensen as the author, but still no reference to Levin's call for criminal prosecutions:

Senate Names Culprits....

nytimes.com

Too big to fail, too big too prosecute.

levin is setting himself up to offer salvation to the squid

the squid's financial wherewithal shall be redirected, but not likely against levin, and more likely for levin

levin would be receptive

above my guess per uncommon sense logic or common take rationale

in the mean time, just cleared from e-mail tray

Subject: The Inside Job

I had to see this to see the way the story is told, as Capitalism a Love Story I found biased even if interesting in parts.

The Inside Job is a pretty good movie for the man in the street to watch, and a good reminder in general for finance professionals.

It gets interesting for me when it starts going through the Harvard, Columbia economists on the payroll of boards, banks...

There is a telling sentence around that point.

“The financial services industry has corrupted the study of economics itself”
