I like making money by selling calls on a stock AFTER it has had a big run, believing that a stock doesn't go up forever and undergoes "consolidation" for a while...and therefore, if a stock has gone up 100% over a short peroid of time and you still like the stock but believe it has gotten a little ahead of itself, then selling covered calls, one or two months out, has been my approach...if you change you mine and see that the stock will be taken from you, then you can alway roll the contracts up and out...this technique has worked for me very well...
