I have a very young friend who is a true genius studying artifical intelligence at Harvard. He tells me they are far more advanced than people think.

Chess involves calculating mathematical odds. Parking a car or flying a plane is a matter of responding to inputs in a predetermined way. Adding a a long column of numbers in a flash doesn't require intelligence.

Computing power will continue to expand, but I'm not sure it will ever be possible to compare human electro-chemical "intelligence" to the bits and bytes of silicon "intelligence"...
