The whisper is that we are real close on a deficit cutting plan. The Democrats are willing to make some tough cuts and the GOP is willing to accept some new taxes/lower welfare to corporations. The Gang of Six seems to be doing the heavy lifting while everyone else huffs and puffs. Of course, the sensible guys in the Gang haven't had to deal with the Teabaggers who have said, "read my lips" or the Liberals who have said no to touching Medicare and Social Security. But, maybe, just maybe, we can find enough sane legislators to save this country.
