Associated Press / April 18, 2011 WASHINGTON — Potential presidential candidate Donald Trump said yesterday that he is a better businessman than Mitt Romney, a leading Republican aspirant for the White House in 2012. In an interview on CNN’s “State of the Union,’’ Trump said he has a “much, much bigger net worth. I mean my net worth is many, many, many times Mitt Romney.’’ Trump said he has created thousands of jobs and built a large company, describing the former governor of Massachusetts as a “small-business guy.’’ Romney is a former venture capitalist with a record of turning around failing companies. While heading Bain Capital, he helped launch the Staples office supply chain, as well as buy Domino’s Pizza. Romney spent more than $40 million of his own money on the 2008 campaign. Last week, Trump said he had put off agreeing to an extension of his “Celebrity Apprentice’’ television show while he weighs a presidential bid. The billionaire real estate developer said he told NBC he could not commit to a three-year contract extension for the series until he decides whether he will run. Trump, who is registered as a Republican in New York, said he is encouraged by polls and plans to make an announcement about his candidacy before June.
