People who have held elected executive offices such as Pawlenty, Romney,, Jeb Bush etc. know what Law means and they have all said that Obama's birth in Hawaii is beyond doubt. Obviously, Trump has not held any elected office and does not know what is important in an election particularly now when the economy is on the way up but not very firmly on the ground. I don't think one in twenty people could tell you a single Trump policy position, but he's become a rather famous birther. Which was the point. He may not be an expert at much but he is at self promotion and getting publicity. A calculated PR stunt, nothing more. Seems like I remember days when 90% of the population wouldn't be so naive as to fall for it. Nor would the press have given any of these guys the time of day.
