Coming high tech price collapse. Moving to cheaper labor means concentrating on high technologies.

China itself wants to transform into a consumer society over the next 30 years, so is moving low-cost manufacturing to countries such as Vietnam and Bangladesh. Increasingly, it will focus on investments and industries that give China a technological advantage.

China will do to high tech what they did to textiles footwear, and, well, everything.

Speaking of major paradigm shift happens - coming to a theatre near you; Atlas Shrugged.

online.wsj.com

<But surprising things can happen. The Tea Party might have surprising success. VVV combined with Confucianism might be adopted com gusto across the USA. People can change their minds overnight when faced with serious situations. >

The 'trailers' of it look good. It might be the rare situation where the movie is better than the book.

It could well be one of those phenomenal cultural successes and result in minds turning on a dime. There is zero momentum in minds. Each mind is like a light switch and can blink and change. Collectively, it's not so fast as each mind has to become aware of the shift happening. As schools of fish and flocks of birds and herds of sheep and crowds of sheople show, those transitions can be nearly instantaneous if there is sufficient stimulus. The crowd impulse is strong.

Communism ran through crowds but has fizzled. There is a presumption that Big Government is a one way street to doom. But it's not.

Mind your premises. Watch the movie. Be ready for paradigm shift to happen. Maybe in a mind near you.

My favourite [from the book] Hank gives his wife a bracelet made of his new metal. She is not impressed. Dagny swaps it for her diamonds: youtube.com The diamond swap is not shown. I want to see that scene. Hooray for Dagny.
