Bubba, I believe the $44 versus $70 ARPU is an apple and orange comparison. The first reflects a mix of consumer/business use and the later is that of heavy business users. Still, I agree it's impressive that their units are being used so heavily. BTW, aren't the profit margin off of cell phone ARPUs higher than that of Nextel's?

Frederick enjoyed your closing comments to freeus. "Smart" goes well with you.

Freeus, please read my response to you on use of margins one more time, I think it might offer more value now. Keep in mind, the benefits from lessons you learn out of each action is far more than the price you pay.

Fredrick, Thanks for the excellent info. and reporting. When you have
an opportunity or if you have discussed this in previous post, could
you explain the concept of the national "Direct Connect" trading
service?

Am I alone in being surprised by the fact the 40% of 3Q subs. were
sold by Nextel agents? That seems extroardinary. Anyone know how this
compares to Cellular/PCS averages? Aren't agents sales higher margin,
as they don't have all the expense associated with direct sales? I
understand Nextel pays up to $250.00 per subscriber to agents and 5%
residual comissions.

George

Frederick - Great post, great insights. We have only begun to see the uses for Direct Connect.

To freeus - Great advice from Frederick. Always try to use logic, not emotion. Think through every possible scenario so you will be less likely to be surprised.

Good Luck -
