Mr David Patterson reports
Donner Minerals and Northern Abitibi have received the following details of
additional drilling to be conducted on the Donner-Northern Abitibi joint
venture ground in the South Voisey's Bay project. It is expected that two
drill rigs will be returning to the Donner-Northern Abitibi joint venture
over the next seven days to drill an additional five to six holes. The
first drill is expected to arrive shortly.
The Donner-Northern Abitibi joint venture is the site of previously
announced holes 97-67 and 97-75. Hole 97-67 intersected thin intervals of
massive sulphide mineralization within a thick sequence of gabbroic rocks
containing disseminated mineralization. Hole 97-67 assayed up to: 1.93%
nickel, 1.64% copper and 0.26% cobalt. Hole 97-75, approximately 250m to
the west of hole 97-67 intersected a 1.1m interval of 11.75% nickel, 9.70%
copper and 0.43% cobalt. Additional holes in the area have encountered a
gabbroic/troctolitic sequence containing variable sulphide mineralization
similar to that seen at the Voisey's Bay deposit.
The mobilization of the drills will begin upon completion of holes
currently being drilled on the South Voisey's Bay project. One drill will
test for the extension of sulphide mineralization around holes 97-67 and
97-75 and the other will test the previously undrilled gravity highs in the
area. These gravity highs are considered important due to their proximity
to the massive sulphide intersections in holes 97-67 and 97-75 and are
among the strongest gravity anomalies encountered in the South Voisey Bay's
project.
It is expected that five to six holes will be completed on the
Donner-Northern Abitibi joint venture by the end of the first week of
December. All fieldwork on the South Voisey's Bay project is being carried
out by Teck Exploration personnel as contractors to the joint venture.
Further results of significance will be made available in a timely manner.
