If there was a real oil scarcity There would be a deluge of investment in Iran.

It there was intelligent thinking going on the USA would be growing lots of hemp, and not just for oil derivatives.

Fossil fuels are also used in agriculture too though as fertilizer.

So I am not sure how we could fare without oil.

There is a lot of money and politics mixed up in oil to the extent it control our lives a lot more then it should imo.

If we have plenty of it we should be seeing $5 a barrel oil again soon. Certainly we should be seeing sub $50 a barrel oil. I doubt very much that will be happening though.
