They just want to punish the successful. Consider these two SI liberals: -------------------------------------------------------------I want to tax corporations until they whither and die. Message 27285719 Yup.. my own is 90% for 10M, 95% for 100M, and 99% for 1B.siliconinvestor.com ------------------------------------------------------------- A country with no corporations would be a country with no large businesses at all ..... would it be good for the poor to live in a country like Cuba or N Korea? Of course not. But he doesn't care .... he just hates .... and wants to pull down and impoverish. This is truly SICK. The second liberal above would like the tax code to prevent people from making big bucks .... and thats the effect his ideal 90%+ tax rates would have. Oprah makes $200M plus a year and is worth about $2B ..... would she keep working if the government took 90 - 95% of what she made? Would Steven Spielberg, worth $3B, have stopped making movies years ago? Would Beyonce ($87M) or Gaga ($62M) keep recording? Would Harrrison Ford ($65M), Adam Sandler ($55M), Will Smith ($45M), Eddie Murphy ($40M), or Jim Carrey ($28M) keep making movies? Course not. Can anyone explain why it would be better for anyone if Oprah or Spielberg had been kept from becoming a billionaire? Or Bob Hope, Will Smith, Bill Cosby, Adam Sandler from becoming worth $300 - $500M each? Sure, we'd all be more "equal" .... but how would that help anyone? Clearly it wouldn't help anyone at all. Nor would it bring in more revenue to the government. In fact, it would lower tax revenue. These and many other high earners would just cut back rather than be a slave working for the government. But helping people or raising revenue isn't at all what it's about. Do these folks even understand the malice and malevolence that lies behind their destructive "opinions?" I doubt it.
