Courtney,

I will post, without further comment, my opinion concerning the accusations you level at Henry: they are completely unjustified. I strongly suspect that I am hardly alone in this belief.

I do have, however, lots of further comment on the timing of your allegations. You chose, in my view, a singularly inappropriate time to come out of the woodwork. Kicking an investor when he is down, as it were, although all too easy a thing to do, is hardly a "classy" move. Why, other than pettiness, now? Where were you at 18? And where will you be in six months, by which time all this will likely be just a bad memory? I expect that you will quietly slink away from this thread, and I do not believe that your absence will be widely regretted.

Your attacks reek of pettiness, and an absence of intellectual integrity.

RB

P.S. I probably should point out that I am not writing this in any "knee-jerk" reaction to the slightest negative comment. As a frequent short seller of stocks (hence the name, Russian Bear,) I have gotten flamed, on occasion, without cause. This is, emphatically, *not* an instance of that phenomenon. I might add that I, unlike some others on this thread, have no problem whatsoever with TonyT's recent posts. Your posts, however, are another matter.

CW, I really see LGND quite positively. Others have criticized their burn rate, but their $200 million deal with LLY should taken them through profitability in 1999. Others have also complained about share dilution, but I view that as a necessary evil required to take LGND into the fully integrated pharmaceutical category. Many, including LGND management, consider LGND's pipeline the best in the sector, and I whole-heartedly agree.
