I haven't been able to wade through all the posts but I wanted to jump in and celebrate the new "back from the dead" era. This week really covered the extremes from "Go to hell, go directly to hell, do not pass Go, etc." to Friday's "Get out of hell free".
I've tried to stay up with the news posts, and the pattern that seems to be emerging is that even when semiconductor companies are announcing production cutbacks or delays, they are continuing to commit money to their .25 um projects. That news works favorably for Cymer in two ways. Not only is it an indication that their business should stay strong even if other semiconductor equipment sales weaken, but it also contributes to a climate where more companies have to commit more to DUV equipment to stay competitive. Now that the stock has started to rebound, maybe some of the courageous analysts will step forward to upgrade or reiterate recommendations.
Do any of the number crunchers out there have guesstimates on what kind of sales and earnings we may be looking at this quarter? Also, what are the best guesses what CYMI margins may look like this quarter?
Have a great weekend everyone.
Baird
